AR Coordinator Training

Included in your subscription is an unlimited amount of training for your AR Coordinator, the person charged by you to make it work. We will assign you a specific AR Implementation Consultant to help your person get the systems operational and working.

The standard training sessions will cover:

  • The basic software navigation – so your people know where to look to find things
  • Managing student accounts – we show your people how to add students, delete students, change passwords and ensure all students can access the systems
  • Managing teacher accounts – we show your coordinator how to add teachers, change software privileges so that all teachers can access the things they need
  • Using the standard reports – All AR implementations require the constant use of AR TOPS reports, AR Diagnostic, SR Diagnostic and SR Reading Range Reports
  • Analysing complex data – As your AR implementation progresses the strength will come from the analysis of the data being produced, we will consult with your AR Coordinator on this data and what it means

Managing the AR Classroom

Included with your subscription is training for your teaching staff.  We will show them how to implement AR into their classrooms.

This 90 minute session covers:

  • The basic definitions used in AR – Book Level, Points, Interest Level, Reading Range
  • STAR Reading Tests – How to administer, how to interpret the data generated
  • Developing an Effective Classroom Monitoring System
  • Using the TOPS Report Effectively
  • Reviewing the Diagnostic Report Data
  • Intervening for Student Success

Extending  the AR Classroom

Once a school has the basics in place with their Accelerated Reader Implementation it is time to think about the use of the data to truly motivate your readers.

This 90 minute session extends the basic concepts of Accelerated Reader from simple reading books, taking quizzes and reviewing TOPS reports into a core part of your reading management system.

The concepts we address are:

  • Setting Individual Goals
  • Using Certifications to recognise student progress
  • Reviewing the school-wide data
